The Magazine Original Cover

This is the "G L A Z E" front cover, I have kerned the font, as it looked squashed together just normally.

I did this just by putting a double space in between the letters.

I chosen white as there is a lot of pastel shades in this cover and couldn't see black/grey/ or pink very well. So I chose white, I feel this has a clean look, and fits in with the soft colour palette.

Titles for the Magazine Front Cover

From the peer assessment tallies above, I have discovered that the best title font is number 2.

I have peer assessed throughout my class, and they have chosen number two.

BEFORE:  Here my brother is in the mirror in the background, so I needed to photoshop him out, I used the rubber tool, pressed "alt" to a dark colour, and blended him out.

AFTER: Now the reflection of my brother is dark and blurred out.

Kerning

This is the difference that magazines have on the font.

This is a way of customising and putting your own stamp on logo's etc.

Research in Magazine spreads

This is a spread from a vogue magazine. I like this spread as the colours are very subtle.
The photo looks old fashioned, as it's a bronze colour, the font has been kurned, as there are no gaps in between the letters.

This is also a magazine spread from vogue. This caught my eye as the colour black is juxtaposed by the neon lime green. The writing doesn't over phase the image, as its small and dainty.

This is the front cover of Vogue Australia. I like the cover as it's simple and plain. The image is clear and the font isn't too fussy.

This is a cover of Company magazine, Pixie Lott on the front. What drawn me to this image was the pale pastel colours. I think it looks very summery and cute!
